What is the correct size pillow for a toddler?

Let's start with the first thing pediatricians recommend: no pillows in the crib under the age of 2.  Although some may say it's ok earlier, this is usually a case-by-case situation so be sure to always check with your own doctor first.

At what age should I give my baby or toddler a pillow?

The standard recommendation by pediatricians is that a pillow not be given to children under the age of 2 years.  However, there are some children who may begin needing some nighttime lift earlier than that and then others who aren't ready for one until even later.  Unless you feel they are needing something to sleep on earlier than 24 months (usually indicating this by sleeping on their arm, a blanket or stuffed toy), it's best to wait until the recommended age before introducing them to one.  Then be sure to give them time to use it as they feel the physical need.  If you feel they are needing one sooner.... DIY: Coloring on a Pillowcase

Today we are going to teach you how to add some "cute" to a plain white pillowcase and have fun with your kids at the same time. Here is a list of what you will need:

  • One of our white 200 thread count pillowcases (for best results, pre-wash and iron it super flat)
  • Crayola crayons (true Crayola brand is really a must for this project)
  • Plain paper or a paper grocery bag or newspaper
  • Paper towels
